The Admiral at the Lake in Chicago, Illinois, has retained Witt/Kieffer to assist in the recruitment of the Director of Marketing of this well-regarded continuing care retirement community (CCRC), an affiliate of The Kendal Corporation and one of the highest-quality and best managed communities of its kind in the Midwest.
The Admiral at the Lake in Chicago, Illinois, is a nonprofit CCRC /Senior Living community newly redeveloped in collaboration with The Kendal Corporation of Pennsylvania. After a long history in Chicago of serving older adults of all faiths and nationalities, the newly developed Admiral at the Lake is a stunning 31-story Life Care/CCRC opened in 2012 and located on a beautiful campus at Marine Drive and Foster Avenue on the Lake Michigan lakefront on the North side of Chicago in one of the most culturally stimulating and diverse communities in the United States. The Admiral is now home to an extraordinary community of individuals, drawing residents from nearly every walk of life and from points across the Chicago region and from as far away as New York, California and New Orleans. The Admiral offers 200 independent living units, 39 assisted living apartments, 17 memory support units and 36 private skilled nursing beds, complemented by top-notch service provided by caring, dedicated professionals who have a passion for providing excellent care and service to older adults.
The mission of The Admiral at the Lake is to provide a quality environment that supports an ageless spirit, promotes health and wellness, and fosters engagement, collaboration and liberating choices. Residents at The Admiral design and direct the recreational, intellectual, social and spiritual life of the community. For more than 40 years, The Kendal Corporation has been known for transparency in governance and fiscal integrity. Values rooted in Quaker principles led Kendal to establish a federal-type governance system relative to its affiliated communities that blends autonomy for each community with the shared strengths of the Kendal network of communities.
The ideal candidate for the Director of Marketing role will bring at least five (5) years of significant management experience in the design and management of sales and marketing programs in an upscale CCRC, multi-level senior living community, residential resort setting or closely related field. A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Public Relations or related field, or equivalent experience, is required. A Master’s degree is preferred. The ideal executive for this position will be a leader who works as a member of a team and delegates effectively; creates a climate of collegiality, cooperation, and collaboration among members of the sales and marketing team and among other departments; and fosters an environment responsive to residents and staff. The ideal leader will develop their team, will hold the team accountable, and will give the team the authority they need to fulfill their roles and responsibilities. The Director of Marketing will join the Admiral senior management team in improving service delivery, resident and staff satisfaction and financial performance, and in strategically positioning The Admiral to be the “community of choice” in its market.
