Friends Hospice
Friends Hospice provides hospice care, advocacy and information to individuals and families facing life-limiting illness. Care is generally provided at home and is intended to maximize the quality of life - physical, social and spiritual. A team of nurses, social workers, hospice aides, chaplains/counselors, physicians and volunteers work with the individual and family to ensure comfort and maintain as much function as possible. Care is planned to provide for the unique needs of each individual and family.Friends Hospice is pleased to serve all who need our care, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. Our program is designed to care for a wide diversity of families. We have a particular intention to meet the needs of the under-served communities of Philadelphia, including people with disabilities, inadequate housing or family/support systems, and other challenges. Education about end-of-life care and concerns is available for congregations, other groups or individual inquiries.
