The Lathrop Communities
The Lathrop Communities are nestled in the heart of the Pioneer Valley of Western Massachusetts and are just minutes from downtown Northampton. This five college community offers easy access to arts, culture, education, travel, shopping, and medical facilities. Lathrop Northampton opened in 1988 with 79 independent living cottages and a central Meeting House. Lathrop Easthampton opened in 1997 with 44 independent living cottages. In 2006, 17 additional cottages were built on the Easthampton campus so that there are currently 61 cottages in that community. Both campuses have three floor plans to choose from. The Inn on the Easthampton campus opened in 1998 with 59 apartments and six floor plans to choose from. Services at the Inn include: the main meal of the day, a café for lunch, transportation, 24-hour security, a wellness center directed by a nurse practitioner, a fee for service home health aide program, and weekly housekeeping. Services available to the cottage residents on a fee for service basis include housekeeping, full course meal delivery and home health aides. Both campuses are surrounded with acres of forests and fields preserved in all their natural beauty; walking paths wind throughout. Lathrop offers an exceptional social calendar which takes advantage of the numerous events of the Pioneer Valley and beyond. Outings are scheduled to museums, symphonies, theater, dance, and educational venues.
