HOURS Full Time, 80 hours bi-weekly. Every other weekend and some holidays required. Competitive salary. DESCRIPTION

Assists in planning, organizing and implementing a program of activities which meet the individual needs, capabilities and preferences of residents. Assures the continuity of programming in the absence of the Activities Manager. Assists in coordinating the activity program with all other departments and integrating the activities with the total community. Completes the following: assists/conducts activities, transports residents requiring assistance, activity room preparation, assures a safe physical environment in the activity room, conducts room visits, provides direction and support to resident volunteers, participates in intergenerational activities. Maintains and ensures the personal rights of all residents through knowledge of and advocacy of the Residents Bill of Rights. Assists with requisition and purchase of supplies, equipment and materials and maintains inventory control. Performs other duties as assigned

 

 

 
POSITION REQUIREMENTS

 

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Previous related experience preferred with skills in music, art or physical recreation.
  3. Able to communicate effectively with residents, staff, families, visitors and volunteers. Comfortable interacting with individuals functioning on all levels of cognition. Strong desire to work with older adults in a health care setting.
  4. General knowledge of Microsoft Windows computer based software required.
  5. Able to meet the physical demands of the position, i.e., lifting a minimum of 20 pounds, bending, transporting residents in wheelchairs to and from the activity.
