The Dining Services Supervisor is responsible for the effective day-to-day operation of the Main and Private Dining Rooms. In conjunction with the FOH Manager and Executive Chef, oversees and coordinates the scheduling, implementation and execution of catered events.

Plan, supervise and follow up on all daily work assignments for MDR Servers, Leads and Coordinator. Oversee and coordinate provision of meals and dining services for the Main and Private Dining Rooms and catered events. Recruit, interview and hire MDR service staff in conjunction with the area manager and coordinator. Responsible for all new hire paperwork, initial training procedures and documentation. Coordinate new employee start date and orientation with Office Manager. Schedule all MDR staff according to budgeted hours; create and monitor all job assignments on a daily and weekly basis. Flex schedule according to operational needs to ensure labor hours remain within budget. Coordinate training of new and existing service staff to ensure consistent performance and that high quality service is maintained. Schedule staff for annual in-service trainings in conjunction with area supervisors. Develop staff through in-service training, continued education, evaluations and promotions. Complete and review employee evaluations in a timely manner. Responsible for scheduling all MDR staff for annual classroom and Silverchair training sessions in ensure staff achieves 100% compliance. In conjunction with FOH Manager, responsible for event planning with residents, guests and staff. Responsibilities include: Plan and book events using current menu; Collect pricing information and price out all catered events; Generate accurate bill to client and follow up with Finance to ensure payment is received. Maintain appropriate records and statistics regarding meal counts and food charges and coordinate the information with the Office Manager for meal count statistics on spreadsheet. Schedule meetings and events in the Private Dining Room and coordinate use of the room with Administration through Outlook. Assist with the presentation of employee in-service and training sessions. Conduct regular employee meetings in conjunction with the BOH Manager. Ensure all staff are familiar and compliant with all new policies and procedures as they arise. Implement and assign cleaning schedules for sanitation of the MDR service and dining area to ensure sanitation standards are maintained. Inspect MDR service and dining areas on a daily basis and report issues to maintenance as needed. Work with the Housekeeping Department to coordinate special cleaning of dining areas annually. Close the dining room each night in conjunction with the FOH Manager and Coordinator. Participate in the daily closing of the kitchen in conjunction with other management team members as assigned. Responsible for payroll functions related to overtime and schedule changes. Check payroll system on a daily basis and update for changes. Monitor labor hours to adhere to budget. Monitor and follow up on employee attendance. Maintain attendance records and recommend and/or conduct corrective action for attendance and performance issues as they arise. Participate in weekly management team meeting and contribute to the development of departmental programs and services as appropriate. Coordinate and conduct weekly catering review meetings with MT members to ensure catering activities are addressed. Maintain a flexible schedule to provide coverage of operational needs including catered and special events. Participate in ongoing education and development through seminars and courses relevant to hospitality services and food service management. Maintains current knowledge of applicable federal, state and local regulations and sanitary and safe food handling. Maintain Serve-Safe Certification or other appropriate certifications as needed to stay current with regulatory and industry trends. Share in the responsibility and accountability for the fiscal performance of the department with the management team through proper scheduling and ordering of supplies. Maintain efficient use of resources and achieve operational goals. Identify problems and take a proactive approach to correct work processes and procedures. Coordinate and implement policies, objectives and goals of the department in conjunction with other managers and supervisors. Address resident concerns, suggestions and complaints in a professional and hospitality focused manner. Perform service recovery activities as needed to ensure errors are properly addressed and corrected.


Full Time, 80 hours bi-weekly. Every other weekend and some holidays required. Competitive salary. Bachelor's degree or Certified Dietary Manager with continuing education in Food Services Management


Minimum 5 years experience in fine dining, hospitality, conference or hotel services.

Minimum 3 years experience in supervision/management in food service or related field.

Serv Safe Certification required.

Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to effectively multi-task.

Excellent problem resolution skills. Ability to make independent decisions using good judgment.

Knowledge of and experience with various food service systems and experience in current trends, food service styles and event planning.

Knowledge of safety and sanitation standards and procedures.

Knowledge of food service equipment and cleaning agents.

Continuing education in appropriate job related fields.

Able to communicate effectively with residents, staff and visitors.

Knowledge of Microsoft Windows-based software and industry and media software.
