We are seeking an experienced IT Support Specialist.  This person will perform technical, analytical work. You will need a good understanding of V-LANs, firewalls and layer 2 and 3 switches.  You will be involved in the planning, design and installation of new and existing personal computer systems, workstations or servers; diagnoses and resolves problems in response to customer reported incidents. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to effectively communicate with all levels in the organization. This is a FT position and the primary hours will be 8am-4:30pm and it will include some weekends.

Requirements

  • Must be proficient in the use of a variety of PC software applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Visio
  • Must have experience configuring and using network monitoring tools. Excellent network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills also required
  • Computer technology training or college, Information Technology, other related field or equivalent experience
  • Must have 2-4 years at the Help Desk level supporting end-users and providing technical support
  • Preferred Certifications include: MCA, Network Security, A+ Certification

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide server, desktop and remote support to residents and staff
  • Diagnose and resolve software and hardware related issues and remotely diagnose issues with mobile devices over the phone Install and maintain network switches and WAP’s
  • Install and configure users on AD and setup PC’s for new users
  • Configure mobile devices Apple, Android, Windows and any other mobile phones and or devices.
  • Provide technical services and support for Microsoft related technologies: Windows Server, SQL, Google apps, AOD, REPs and other applications 
  • Install wiring for internal phone, TV, CCTV and networking
  • Support end users with RDP, Logmein or VPN connections remotely and physically 
  • Provide support with nurse call system, access control, wander management and security cameras
  • Enter time and expenses in work order system
  • Escalate service and project issues that cannot be completed within agreed service levels or require higher level support
  • Research and recommend information security/information assurance policies, principles and practices
  • Assist in the planning of work unit Information Technology architecture
  • Support organizational plans with project work assignments and implementation of new technologies
  • Monitor the remote monitoring and management system alerts and notifications, and respond accordingly through service tickets
  • Provide network documentation, maintenance and consulting services to include network reviews and recommendations for all network infrastructure
  • Communicate promptly and clearly with employees and residents as required; keeping them informed of incident progress, notifying them of impending changes or agreed outages
  • Document internal processes and procedures related to duties and responsibilities
  • Review IT publications and online materials to remain up-to-date with current and future technologies emerging in the industry
  • Adhere to all attendance, compliance, mandatory training, regulatory and safety standards, including the Code of Conduct; as well as the organizations policies and procedures covering Privacy and Security in compliance with HIPAA regulations
