The Lead Sanitation Coordinator is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of the Dining Services Department in compliance with regulatory agency requirements and Medford Leas policies and procedures. The Lead Sanitation Coordinator will follow a strict code of sanitation techniques, safety procedures, and personal hygiene to ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen and related facilities, supplies and equipment. The Lead Sanitation Coordinator performs Sanitation job tasks, oversees the work of the Sanitation Assistants and Sanitation Attendants, and assists in Sanitation staff training. The Lead Sanitation Coordinator works with the Production Staff to ensure the cleanliness of kitchen facilities and equipment and compliance with food safety.

Requisite Requirements:

  • HS Diploma or GED required, or in process.
  • Must possess 1 year of previous experience in food service or sanitation in a lead capacity, or possess equivalent combination of education, experience and training.
  • Must be able to perform simple mathematics such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to follow written and oral directions.
  • Knowledge of the use and sanitary maintenance of job-appropriate commercial kitchen equipment and utensils.
  • Food Safety and/or Sanitation certification, or in process.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Walks, bends, lifts, stoops and stands the majority of the day.
  • Work is performed primarily in the Dining Services main kitchen, loading dock and adjacent areas, storage locations, refrigerator and freezer units. Work may also be performed in the health care center, dining areas or catering venues.
  • Work involves retrieval of items from various storage locations, refrigeration and freezer units. Work areas may have a wide range of temperature variations.
  • Duties involve: lifting, bending, stooping, or stretching; dexterity of hands and fingers to operate food service equipment, handle service ware, and perform cleaning tasks.

One full-time position, primarily 12:30pm – 9pm, includes every other weekend and holidays as scheduled.
