Barclay Friends, a premier not-for-profit continuing care retirement community, is seeking a full-time Billing & Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist to join our team!

The Billing & AP Specialist supports administrative operations by ensuring timely billing of all resident accounts; recording collections on accounts; and preparation of accounts payable. This position will prepare private billing statements, prepare Medicaid billing, participate in Medicare and Insurance billing, and follow up on outstanding receivables balances on a monthly basis. The Billing & AP Specialist will also input and prepare cash receipts journals for all payments, and input all accounts payable invoices into G/L. In addition,  this position works with residents, POAs, Social Services, the County Assistance Office, and others in obtaining Medicaid eligibility for residents, as well as works with the banks to establish, maintain, and reconcile resident trust accounts for those Medicaid residents. The Billing & AP Specialist must be able to exercise independent judgement and decision making and must be flexible and work particularly well with public, residents, board, and staff.  Confidentiality is also of great importance. This is a non-exempt, hourly position. The Billing & AP Specialist will work 35 hours per week, typically Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:00pm. 

Qualifications for the position: Experience with third party billing required, including Medicare SNF Consolidated Billing and Medicaid. Two or more years experience in the finance office of a long-term care facility preferred. Experience with a General Ledger system such as MatrixCare, required. Experience with accounts payable preferred.  Must be able to: Communicate clearly in person, in writing, and on the telephone regarding complex matters; maintain a paperless environment; and work under pressure with deadlines.  Professional appearance and demeanor required.
