Friends Services for the Aging (FSA) is a nonprofit organization that provides support to Quaker organizations for older adults. FSA administers a collaborative program of compliance services called the Peace Church Compliance Program (PCCP). PCCP provides a wide range of compliance and privacy services to non-profit Continuing Care Retirement Communities of various denominations in 15 states.

The Compliance Specialist assists in the provision of compliance services to participating organizations and supports the Vice President of Compliance with oversight of each organization’s compliance and privacy program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform compliance  audits and reviews for member organizations in areas surveyed by State and Federal regulation and law.
  • Assist in monitoring the activities and regulations of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid services and the Department of Health, Human Services Office of Inspector General and Office of Civil Rights.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of recommendations or changes, including regulatory research, training, policy and procedure development and provision of participant support through email and phone contact.
  • Travel to and work from offsite locations. Overnight travel is required.
  • Assist with ensuring compliance with Medicare, Medicaid coding and billing rules and HIPAA/HITECH regulations,.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in the Long Term Care, Post Acute/Healthcare industry.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred or equivalent certifications): Nursing

RAC-CT Certification or Quality Assurance Certification a plus.

  • Extensive knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid Conditions of Participation and knowledge of Medicare Coding and Billing Requirements preferred.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing regulatory environment is a must.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
