The Security Assistant is responsible for monitoring Medford Leas facilities and grounds during the evening hours in order to ensure that the safety of Residents and staff is maintained, that security and emergency systems are functioning properly, and that emergency situations are responded to in an appropriate and expedient manner; including tending to minor maintenance issues that may arise during the overnight hours. The Security Assistant monitors facility security cameras, makes rounds to secure building entrances/exits and observes activity on Medford Leas grounds; responds to all incoming, emergency and off-hook contacts/calls received by following the established procedures. The Security Assistant is also responsible for placing emergency calls, properly following up and documenting all incoming calls, actions taken and the disposition of all situations, and reporting any inappropriate or emergency situations to the Director of Operations.

This is a PT position and you will be scheduled to work 58 hours bi-weekly. The shifts are as follows:

Week 1 (30 hours): Monday, Tuesday 4pm-10pm, Wednesday 4pm-11pm, Saturday 12pm-11pm

Week 2 (28 hours): Monday, Tuesday  Wednesday 4pm-10pm, Saturday 12pm-10pm


  • Must be able to pass a drug test and background check
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Must have a valid NJ Driver’s License
  • 2-5 years security related experience preferred.
  • Must have a H.S. Diploma
  • Must be computer literate and have electronic security and /or system knowledge
  • Must have the ability to think and respond quickly to emergency situations
