Member Spotlight: Barclay Friends

New on the campus of Barclay Friends is the Preston Building, which is named after the 19th Century Quaker activist and physician, Ann Preston. This project was fast-tracked and went from design to construction within a year. On August 20, the community celebrated the grand opening, with more than 150 people raising their glasses for a virtual toast at the ribbon cutting ceremony.

The Preston Building has 20 private apartments for residents who need secure memory care and 40 for personal care and residential living. In addition, there are two gardens with walking paths that supplement the horticultural therapy program. Residents have access to state-of-the-art amenities including outside dining, fitness center, spa and hair salon as well as rehabilitative therapies through award winning programs. A virtual tour is available on Barclay Friends website.

Onsite at the Ribbon Cutting (from left to right) is John Braceland, Board Chair; Diane Williams, Personal Care Administrator; and Linda Sterthous, Executive Director.
