Common Coding Errors - MDS Section Overviews - GG through Q 

MDS Coordinators and Nursing Leadership play a critical role in completing and monitoring MDS accuracy and ensuring a strong and consistent interdisciplinary and Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process is maintained. MDS accuracy is critical to proper care planning, payment, accurate quality measures, and related survey implications.

MDS Interviews 

This session will focus on the MDS interview process. Interviews are “the voice of the resident,” and CMS has prioritized resident interviews as part of the MDS process. Additional interviews have been added over the past few years.

Effective Care Planning is crucial for delivering person-centered care. This session will explore the completion process for the Care Area Assessment (CAA) and its relationship to planning holistic resident care.

Microaggressions are defined as the everyday, subtle, intentional or even unintentional interactions or behaviors that communicate some sort of bias toward historically marginalized groups. We’ll discuss survival strategies, prevention steps and how to spot concerning behaviors.

- Develop new strategies and tools to address and prevent microaggressions
