CSA in the SNF-Developing Skills for Investigating Injuries, Abuse Allegations, and Other Issues

Although most SNF staff have never trained at the FBI headquarters in Quantico, Virginia, we are expected to be able to perform assessments of injuries and reach conclusions regarding the nature of bruises, lacerations, fractures and other presentations of the changes in conditions of SNF residents. This presentation will provide an in-depth discussion of the forensic assessment skills needed to enhance the assessment of injuries in SNF residents.

Regulatory and Contractual Issues for SNF Medical Directors

Based on the OIG updates to the Compliance Program Guidance (CPG) and the Nursing Facility Industry Specific Compliance Program Guidance (ICPG), the supporting documents for the FSA Compliance Collaborative have been updated and will be presented during this session. It will include a new, more concise, Code of Conduct, new and updated policies and procedures, and a new document known as the Compliance Plan that provides an overview of the program and its various components.

This session will be repeated on the Monday October 13 webinar for those unable to attend the conference. There will NOT be a NAB credit available for the 10/13 webinar, but they will be available for those in-person at the conference.
